Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sparkbill (“Sparkbill”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Sparkbill mobile app and getsparkbill.com(together, the “Service”). Sparkbill is invoicing and payment software for tradespeople. We aim to collect as little as we need to run the Service.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and authentication details. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Business & invoice data.Information you enter to create invoices and estimates — your business details, your clients’ names and contact details, line items, amounts, and due dates.
- Payment connection. If you enable Pay Now, you connect your own Stripe account. Card and bank details of your clients are collected and processed by Stripe, not by Sparkbill — we never see or store full card numbers or bank credentials, and we never hold your funds.
- Subscription data. App subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) via RevenueCat. We receive a subscription status, not your payment card details.
- Usage & device data. Basic technical data (device type, app version, error logs) to keep the Service working.
How we use information
- To create, send, and track your invoices and estimates.
- To send payment reminders by SMS and email to the client contacts you provide, on your behalf, until an invoice is paid.
- To process your subscription and provide customer support.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
SMS reminders & your clients’ consent
When you send an invoice, Sparkbill may text and email the client contact you entered to remind them the invoice is due. These are transactional messages sent on your behalf. Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP — or by any other reasonable means — and we honor opt-outs across SMS and email. Reminders also stop automatically once an invoice is paid. As the business owner, you are responsible for having a proper basis to contact your clients.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers that operate the Service on our behalf — for example Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), our email provider, RevenueCat and the app stores (subscriptions), and our hosting provider.
- Legal & safety — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers — if Sparkbill is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.
Data retention
We keep your account and invoice data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@youssef.contact. You can request account and data deletion at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, and we rely on established providers (Clerk, Stripe, Twilio) for sensitive operations. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
